Trees don't need pruning to live. Here is how Cédric sees his profession.
Contrary to one of the many misconceptions about trees, they have no need at all to be pruned in order to live, thrive, or heal their wounds and stress. An arborist's work exists only to respond to certain constraints that people impose on them.
So, at my own level, to help preserve trees, I refuse certain practices that are all too often applied, such as topping or severe pruning, which permanently and unattractively destroy the tree's structure, setting off a spiral of decline and breakage risks in branches that did not exist before.
I can offer you solutions that are better suited, less invasive and more economical than these practices — practices that will not meet your expectations and will make your precious tree(s) dangerous, or even kill them.
